Meet Ashley Heisler owner of Lillian June Wellness. As a fitness instructor Ashley took her love of fitness to the next level during pregnancy and choose educate herself to stay fit and active. As a Certified Prenatal and Postnatal Coach, Ashley is using her passion for fitness and her own personal experience to help Moms, Moms-to-be and those hoping to conceive on their fitness journey. Ashley’s method of evidence based training helps clients reach realistic, attainable and sustainable goals without judgment. I know once you get to know Ashley you will love her enthusiasm and passion for her fitness family as much as I do.
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I was born in Orlando, FL and I lived in Asheville, NC, and Houston, TX before moving to Austin in 2002. I’ve lived in Austin longer than any other location and it’s been exciting to watch this city transform over the years. Austin is such an active & fit city and the energy in this town makes it even more enjoyable to be in the wellness industry.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Our first daughter was born in September 2018 and we’re excited to have a native Texan in the family. She has brought so much joy to our lives!
One thing people would be surprised to know about you. . .
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas and I started teaching fitness classes while I was a student on campus.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My parents and in-laws have been a huge help from day one. From cooking meals to delivering food, doing laundry, and even cleaning, our friends and family have been amazing. I definitely had to let go of ‘doing things exactly the way I like’ during my postpartum recovery but all of the help was exactly what we needed. My husband has been such a wonderful Dad and it has been so much fun to see him transition to this new role.
Favorite things to do with your daughter?
We love to explore different parks and trails in the city and we take any opportunity we can to get outdoors! A few of our favorites include Town Lake/Lady Bird Lake and Brushy Creek.
Tell us about your business and how it came to be, what you love about it, what makes it unique, what your goal is, etc…
I’m the owner of Lillian June Wellness and a certified prenatal and postpartum fitness and nutrition coach. Many clients come to me when they are tired of trying diet after diet, spending countless hours in the gym, and not reaching their goals. I also have clients who are pregnant or trying to conceive and they want to stay healthy throughout the journey.
What makes Lillian June Wellness unique?
Lillian June Wellness provides evidence-based information and training to clients and stays updated on the latest research and training practices.
I help clients to determine realistic, actionable steps to achieve goals with sane & sustainable nutrition, fitness training, and self-care support while helping clients feel heard, validated and affirmed.
I believe in supporting client goals without judgment, helping clients remove shame around their body and food choices, and never shaming clients or making them feel they have to ‘get their body back’.
I help clients understand they are worthy of self-care outside of their role as mother, encourage physical, mental and emotional self-care, listen, and encourage women supporting other women through community.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
From running a small business to raising a baby, this community has been more supportive than I could have imagined! I’m fortunate to have found supportive small businesses in Austin who provided invaluable prenatal and newborn care support and other businesses who are always open to collaborating with Lillian June Wellness! While Austin can feel like a big city, the local communities make it hard to imagine living anywhere else.
